Annual Trail Clean-up Day

It’s that time of year to start thinking about ski season. Once again the West Carleton Nordic Ski Club is looking for helpers of all ages to join us in preparing the trails for the upcoming ski season. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, check-out the trails, spend time with the family/friends and meet fellow skiers.

When: Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 9:00 am (in the case of rain, our back up date will be November 2nd,  same time).

Where: This year we will meet at the parking lot of Fitzroy Provincial Park and break into two groups – one for the park side and the other for the 5 km loop across the road.

Warm clothes (layers are best), water bottle, and of course, your trail clearing tools (trimmers for branches, and if you have a chainsaw, that would be great).

Thank-you, Happy Thanksgiving, and hope to see you there!

I only learned of the event after the fact last year and was intending to participate this year but I have not seen any indication that it will be held so I’m thinking it would be fun to do the same thing with friends. I want to call it Penguin People. Continue reading
